BOSHOFF HOUSE

A HOME AWAY FROM HOME...

Boshoff House, Stirling High School’s on-campus residence, provides a welcoming and structured environment for approximately 75 learners from surrounding towns and farming communities.

Named after Dr. Hendrik Boshoff, who served as the school’s headmaster from 1973 to 1982, the hostel offers comfortable, secure accommodation for students in Grades 8 to 12, with separate quarters for boys and girls.

CARING & SUPPORTIVE ENVIRONMENT

A dedicated team of staff ensures that learners feel at home. The hostel is supervised by:

  • Two resident school families and five duty teachers (who are also Stirling educators).
  • A superintendent, responsible for the overall well-being of learners.
  • Two matrons, who oversee nutrition, laundry, and daily needs.
  • An experienced catering team, providing nutritious and high-quality meals.

At Boshoff House, learners are encouraged to develop independence, self-discipline, and strong friendships, while being part of a caring and structured environment. It truly is a home away from home, where students can thrive both academically and personally.

FACILITIES & LIFESTYLE

Centrally located on the school estate, Boshoff House gives learners easy access to Stirling’s top-class facilities, including supervised use of the swimming pool and gym.

The hostel itself features a well-equipped recreation room with:

  • A TV with DStv Compact, a sound system, and a Wi-Fi hotspot.
  • A pool table and table tennis for relaxation.
  • A computer area with access to the school network and internet.

The daily routine is designed to help learners balance academics, sport, and cultural activities. Supervised study sessions (prep) are held in the school building from 16h30 to 17h45, followed by dinner, and then from 18h40 to 20h00 under the guidance of a duty teacher.
